H.A.R.T.

From time to time a certain rescue comes our way that really touches us more than others.  All rescues are very special in their own ways, but there have been a few that have really left their mark in my heart for the rest of my life.  I'd like to share some of them with you.

Little Victoria, she was in a litter that was my first bottle fed batch.  I fell madly in love with her.  Victoria passed away during her spay, I will never forget her, see you again one day my sweet pea.

Odin, below, was given to me from a homeless person who could no longer look after him.  Odin is a manx cat who really stole my heart, he now lives with Victoria Marshall and her family :)

Frodo, shown below with Santa, my all time favorite rescue. Frodo was not rescued through HART, he was rescued through myself and Melissa Lee when we were both with Safe Haven Animal Rescue, but I coiuld not put this page up without putting him on it, I loved this little guy more than life itself, not a day goes by that I don't think of him, he was the world to me.  He was euthanized after I had fostered him for a little while.  I got this photo taken just a few days before he left this world.  A part of my heart will never mend.

Cinderella, below, came to us all the way from Cape Breton.  There wasn't any help for her there, she was emaciated and in horrific shape.  She made her way to H.A.R.T. through the help of other people ..... wasn't sure if she was going to make it or not but my vet sure helped a lot, as did Inge Sadler in helping tube feed her.  She eventually got adopted, sure miss this amazing girl.

Maynard the manx, wow what a boy this was.  Maynard and his sister arrived here with their pregnant mother, Luna.  This whole family of felines were outstanding, but Maynard won us over the most.  He loved to jump into your arms.  Maynard's life ended when his adopted family couldn't afford his surgery when he swallowed a ribbon at Christmas time ... if only they had told me, we would have saved his most precious life :(

Below is Bumper, lovingly named for the older gentleman who found her on his doorstep, blind.  Bumper was born without any eyes.  She is my first blind rescue, and is really quite remarkable!  She has been adopted by one of my best friends, and my treasurer, Denise Horne, who renamed her "Keely".  And she is soooo sweet!

Little Endora, shown below, she had quite a time going from the bottle to wet food, she dove right into it for a long time and had to have her face washed constantly, we'll never forget you, and now you are all grown up living with our friends Sara and Mark!
