Smokey is the only dog left to be adopted.  Although Smokey will require someone that has a lot of time, he is a very sweet dog.  He has gone through a lot.  He has come a long way however he still is having issues with his skin.  This poor dog was so infested with fleas that he is still have problems, he was very allergic to them.  He is being bathed twice a week with special medicated shampoo.  Are you able to give Smokey the home, love and attention he wants and deserves so badly?   He is very lovable and giving Smokey a home would be VERY rewarding.  Smokey still needs to be vaccinated and neutered.  He can be seen at TLC in Digby.

This is dear little Billy (pictured below).  Billy is another cat rescued from behind a tavern (Top Hat).  Billy was found with an enormous hernia (the size of a grapefruit) hanging from his belly.  This is another case that has gone UNREPORTED for some time.  WHY?  We will never have the answer to this question.  Billy is still in the hospital.  This picture was taken after his FIRST surgery, to remove the hernia.  It was touch and go but Billy pulled through this.  NOW Billy has to have a second very, very serious surgery, his spleen may have to be removed.  It's quite complicated surgery and we are all praying for Billy.  Through all of this pain and suffering Billy has remained one of the most affectionate cats the staff at Port Royal Animal Hospital has ever seen.  Billy wants to live.  We urge you to help us with Billy's costs.  Payments can be made directly on HART's account at Port Royal Animal Hospital (902-532-PETS) or cheques can be mailed directly to us (made payable to "H.A.R.T.").  If you live in the area of Annapolis Royal, perhaps you'd like to pop in and say hello to Billy.  Say a little prayer for this outstanding sweetheart.  He is about one year old.
The picture shown below is of Billy's belly after his first surgery.  This shows where the hernia was.  It's a miracle that Billy has even made it this far.  This little man sure is a trooper!!

We have another cat with a hernia, this wonderful lad's name is Max.  Max is being fostered by a very kind young woman by the name of Kayley in Windsor.  She has taken Max into her home.  She has rescued other cats and does not have the resources to help Max with his hernia problem, he also needs to be neutered.  We are going to set up a special account at Port Royal Animal Hospital under H.A.R.T.'s name just for Max.  We would like to see Max get immediate veterinary care and are asking for your urgent help with donations for him.  Please call Port Royal Animal Hospital (902) 532-PETS and donate what you can towards Max's surgeries.  He is a very loving, affectionate cat that deserves all the good things life has to offer.  You can use your visa or mastercard when calling.  Alternatively, you can mail a cheque or money order to H.A.R.T., 1147 New Road, Aylesford, N.S. B0P 1C0.  Please make your cheque payable to "Port Royal Animal Hospital".  Please send whatever you can.  Photos of Max are shown below, isn't he beautiful?  He needs your help.
"PLEASE HELP MAX"
If you are interested in adopting Max or would like further information on him please click on ANY of his photographs and you will get direct email access.  We have rescued a lot of cats with some serious injuries and/or medical problems.  These surgeries add up quickly and our vet bill gets quite high, making it difficult for us to do more for others that need us.  Please find it in your heart and wallet to help.  He's warm, safe, and well fed, but he needs medical treatment.
